Data Processing and Competition Registration Rules

1. Data Controller
The data controller for this competition is BDR “Daiļslidošanas skola ISPS” (hereinafter — the Organizer). Contact: [email protected]

2. What data we collect
When registering for a competition, the following personal data is collected: skater’s full name, date of birth, club affiliation, coach’s name, competitive category, and optionally a family discount card number.

3. Purpose and legal basis
The data is processed solely for the purpose of administering the competition, including preparation of start lists, results publications, and communication with the submitting club representative. The legal basis is the legitimate interest of the Organizer in conducting a sporting event (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) and, where applicable, consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).

4. Who submits the data
Entries are submitted by a club coach or representative acting on behalf of the skaters and their parents/guardians. By submitting the entry form, the representative confirms they hold the consent of each skater’s parent or legal guardian for the data processing described in these rules.

5. Photography and video
During the competition, participants may be photographed and/or filmed. Such recordings may be used by the Organizer for promotional, informational, and archival purposes, including publication on the competition website and social media. The submitting representative confirms consent on behalf of each listed skater and their family.

6. Results publication
Competition results, including skaters’ names, clubs, categories, and scores, will be published publicly on the competition website as is standard practice in figure skating competitions.

7. Data sharing
Personal data may be shared with the relevant national skating federation for registration and ranking purposes. Data will not be sold or shared with third parties for commercial purposes.

8. Retention period
Personal data will be retained for a maximum of 2 years following the competition, after which it will be securely deleted, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

9. Your rights
Participants and their legal guardians have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of their personal data, as well as the right to object to processing, by contacting [email protected]. Complaints may also be submitted to the Latvian Data State Inspectorate (dvi.gov.lv).

10. Updates
These rules may be updated. The current version is always available on the competition website.
